Large Fireplace Grate for Andirons | 28" x 13"

By placing a fireplace grate on the andirons, you elevate the fire, promoting airflow from below. This improves the draft within the fireplace, leading to more efficient wood burning, crucial for sustainable heating.

This grate measures 72 cm (28.3") wide and 34 cm (13.4") deep, with raised edges to contain the wood. All dimensions are external. The distance between the legs of the andirons is approximately 62 cm (24.4") for this grate. The gap between the bars of the grate itself is 26.5 cm or 10.4" (including the bars), suitable for andirons with legs of at least 26.5 cm (10.4"). The height difference between the top of the andirons' legs and the highest point of the burning area of the grate is approximately 1.5 cm (0.59") .

This grate is crafted by a blacksmith in the Netherlands using 1.6 cm (0.62") thick steel and weighs 11 kg (24.3 lbs).
